learning support

Learning support may be a great choice for you to feel empowered through education.  For some of us, experiencing mental health challenges can impact on our education or even create barriers.  We understand taking a step into a learning session, takes an enormous amount of courage when you are feeling emotionally and physically unwell.  That's why there are no requirements or learning assessments at RCT.

not sure where to start

Come along and observe a learning session.  So many times, we have heard, that attending a session has felt like the most productive part of someone's day, despite doing it tough.  Ask for learning support, and experience an authentic conversation, where you re-discover your strengths to explore hope and possibilities.

we are unique

We all learn differently and figuring out what that means for you is the most exciting part of self-discovery.  RCT is here to support you on your quest to be your best self!  We create a safe space, to have a conversation, based on connection and compassion.

peer educator

Students can request a meeting with our Peer Educator to learn about learning support options, which may include a Learning Plan.  Students can build an ongoing connection with the college and have regular check-ins (3, 6 & 9 months) with the Peer Educator to stay inspired with their learning.

Our Peer Educator has lived experience of mental health challenges and uses a strengths-based approach to explore hope and possibilities for mental health recovery.

accessing learning support

It is provided by the Peer Educator and may be face-to-face, online via Microsoft Teams, or over the phone.  To request learning support, please click here or chat to us after a learning session.
