
RCT Student Terms and Conditions
Recovery College Tasmania (RCT) is a non-clinical community-based education experience, providing safe and inclusive mental health education to adults, families and friends.

Recovery College Tasmania is a free education service provided by Statewide Mental Health Services, Department of Health (Tasmania).
What we collect
We collect the personal information you enter on this form to create and manage
your online enrolment for the creation of a student account. This can include your username and password, email address, name, date of birth, contact details, address, and other information you choose to provide.
Some questions are optional
Some questions are optional, including pronouns, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin, support needs, and whether you would like a Learning Plan. If you choose to provide support needs, please only include what educators need to support your learning. Do not include unnecessary personal or clinical details.
Sensitive information
Some optional questions may involve sensitive information (for example, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin, or support needs you describe in your own words). You do not have to provide this information. If you choose to provide it, we use it only to support your participation and to help improve our services.
Why we collect it
We collect and use your information to; set up and manage you contact you about learning sessions, changes and certificates; support your learning, including through a Learning Plan if you request it and improve our learning programs and services (for example, through participation information and feedback).
Who we share it with
We share your information only with authorised Recovery College staff and approved service providers that support our online learning systems, where this is needed to deliver the service. We do not use your information for marketing.
If you do not provide required information
Fields marked with an asterisk are required to create a student account. If you do not provide the required information, you cannot enrol and will not be able to register to participate in learning sessions.
Privacy, access and correction
Your information is handled in line with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004. To enrol with RCT, please read and agree to the following:
- The information I provide during enrolment is
collected and managed according to the Personal Information Protection Act

- I can choose to participate in group learning
sessions either online or face-to-face.
- Sessions are not recorded, and recording is not
permitted by anyone, application or AI bot.
If recordings are attempted, the user will be removed from the online
session to protect safety and confidentiality. Learning resources are available 24/7 via our
RCT Online Portal.
- I understand my anonymous data may be captured in
surveys on the online portal and Slido platform.
- If I opt in for learning support educators will view my Learning Plan to
support my learning.
- I agree to being contacted about my learning and may receive updates, invitations, appointment confirmations and Certificates of Achievement.
- The lived experience of mental health challenges shared by educators and students in group learning sessions is strictly confidential.
- The curriculum is the intellectual property of RCT.
- If I experience distress, mental health support is available via the Access Mental Health helpline on 1800 332 388.
