Katie RCT Manager

Katie | Mental Health Recovery College Manager

"Hi, I’m Katie - it has always been a dream of mine to make a significant contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of Tasmanian communities.  As Manager, I lead with compassion and it's my privilege to learn from community about their journey.  Understanding the challenges and triumphs, then reflecting on those lived experiences through an educational lens, increases connection and reduces stigma.  The best moments for me, in this wonderful work, is hearing the 'gems' shared during a session and reconnecting with students. I'm looking forward to growing our community."

Maree Education coordinator of RCT

Maree | Education Coordinator

"Hi, I’m Marzy - in my role as Education Coordinator I work to change the narrative, shifting community stigma and shaping the mental health sector through evidence-based research and evaluation that not only supports peoples' rights to education, but also actively provides learning opportunities for people experiencing mental health challenges, including during episodes.  I work tirelessly and passionately to ensure a truly inclusive education framework (based on recovery principles and fidelity) where all community can benefit from their engagement and learning with RCT.  It really is an energy exchange, where we all learn from each other and connect through reciprocal gratitude, to reinvent ourselves from times of crisis and challenge.  I have a deep passion for innovative evidence-rich education design!  Co-discovering with our wonderful community is an absolute joy and I look forward to sharing meaningful sessions with educational rigour!"

Kate Peer Educator of RCT

Kate | Peer Educator

"Hi, I’m Curly Kate and I love what I do.  I believe recovery is possible!  In my role as Peer Educator, I model sharing safely and provide learning support to students, where we connect with strengths for exploring hope and possibilities through education.  I bring my lived experience of mental health and recovery to share hope, reduce stigma and learn together.  I live a vibrant life with a mental health condition, embracing self-care, gratitude and joy to be my authentic self."
